frequently asked questions

glass

Q. How do I find out what stove I have?

A. Check to see if there is any wording or distinctive markings anywhere on the stove. If not take a photograph and send to us.

Q. Which measurement of the glass do I take?

A. Make sure it is from the inside of the door and at it’s two widest points if it is not square or rectangular.

Q. How do I remove the old glass?

A. Not difficult, but get in touch if you cannot loosen the fixing clips or screws.

Q. What else do I need?

A. Most glasses will have a sealing gasket round the edges (rope or thin fibre). Check to see if this needs replacing at the same time.

Q. Can I use fire cement to keep the new glass in place?

A. NO. Glass needs to expand with heat. Any method that holds the glass too tight will result in the glass breaking almost straight away.

Q. How quickly can you get me my glass?

A. Very quickly. We try to get orders sent to you within 1 - 2 days, but please remember as with all deliveries we cannot guarantee a time.

Q. Where can I get the seals for the doors and glass?

A. We can supply most types of door seal - rope, channels and sealing strips.

Q. How do I fix the seals in place?

A. Generally with heat resistant glue, which we can supply.
